Animals and Pets.

Postby Gemini » Thu Jan 28, 2010 8:11 am

Hi all, I have a question.

Are pets, and all animals really, subject to the same divine law? How do things work for them?

I guess what has prompted me to ask this is I have a cat, (I have 2 cats actually) but one of them is ill currently. I have today been told by the vet that the decision to put her to sleep will have to be made soon as she has a large tumour inside her mouth, between her gum and cheek.

I do not believe animals are not conscious, but are they aware, like we can be, of Ø? And another thing which bothers me, if I make the decision to have her put down, how will that work in karmic terms? I suppose, all in all, I am a little emotional at present, I hope my question, and ramblings, are not too 'out there' so to speak, just hoping for a bit of insight with these thoughts.

I do think animals are aware , maybe Dolfins and some other animals are more aware than say cats and dogs.
I found a resonating explanation in the Law of One , therein it is stated animals are in lower density of conciousnes en are there to learn so that they come back
into a higher level...humans.
Looking at it this way makes sense for me because if one looks at the principal of physical evolution , ego is the latest invention.
Look at how a domesticated behaves in comparison to a wild cat , to me it seems they have gained a lot of behaviour that they have learned from us humans.
Dog's seem to me more like a loving kind of animal and need leaders , the don't seem as egotistical as cats sometimes do.
If one looks at examples of Dolphin's , they seem to have a lot of egotistical qualities without ever coming into contact with humans , they are also able to show great empathy.
Animals also seem to be here just to assure our planet works the way it does , if one takes away all humans Earth would be doing just fine, so most animals seem to be needed to make the Earth tick while humans......well...

Your answer can be found in the question ' what is the purpose of man' .
Every animal has a purpose. Everything living, as a function.
The spider to catch the fly, the bird to catch the fly, everything is balanced.

Cats have there purpose. They are pure energy, pure spirit experiencing there existence with instints upon there purpose <one can never stop the cat from killing the bird>. It is only Man that bought Cats into the home. The cat soon learns that food is available and stays, inreturn shares it's pure energy in the best way it can give, you will know this as cats can show there tender sides.
Like wise dogs. Pure energy functioning on line with given instints, man again domesticated the dog.

Your cats time here is upon it's end, it's cycle is done, one can leave nature to take it's role or you may take the task and speed the exit. There is no karma. There is no bad to follow. You are only to gain understanding from the choice.
I Am All That Is. You Can Not 'Grant' Me My Freedom. I AM Freedom.

Hello Gemini

Just wanted to pass my best wishes to you! We had to get our old cat put to sleep in November due to her kidney's failing...I took her to the vets with my wife thinking she just had bad gums, I was shocked to my core when they said she would need to be let lose of her misery then or the next day

That was the hardest thing I ever had to do, I could not watch and was terribly sad for a good few days even breaking in to tears at night. It is not an easy time but please remember you are doing it because you care and wish not to see suffering.

My prayers are with you for the future

I have found animals are an extension of our personal experience. The personalities of the pet reflect that of their "owner". All my animals have been vital to my growth. Some of the most important clues to who I am and what I must do have come from my observation of animals and how they exist in this simulation. There is no hate. No looking to the future or the past. They are now and when we worry they worry. When we yell they are affected. One of the simple ways I found to exist was to look for ways "to be" where it would allow my pets to be happy and content.

My dog came to us specifically. She chose us an I new when she was born even though it would be three weeks before we met. She arranged the meeting at the Denver Dumb Friends league. We came on the day she indicated and she picked us out. When I was at the very low point in my life I looked at my dog, that night before I transcended, and she taught me how to trust Ø without condition. She is a being of incredible complexity if I take the time to listen. It was the most important key I ever discovered and it gave me a new appreciation of "man's best friend". Looking back I had no chance of avoiding her as she was a gift from Ø.

Thank you all for the replies.

Me and Su (my cat) had a good chat about things and I know she trusts me to make the right decision for her if that time comes, and I trust that I will know when that time is.

Gooseone, I liked what you said about animals coming back into the higher human level. I recall I book I read many years ago, A Soul's Journey by Peter Richelieu, in it he talks about animals, and how they evolve to humans and I remember when I read it, it instantly struck a chord in me. Thank you for reminding me about that.

Moose, your so right, everything here does have a purpose. Its strange how such simplicities are forgotten and then something happens to draw your attention back to basics.

Ryanon, sorry to hear you have been through the same thing yourselves. :( It is amazing the bonds that are built between animals and humans, the love which passes between us can sometimes feel over-whelming, but, despite the heartache when (we believe) we temporarily have to part, I know we would not have it any other way. :)

roage, your wisdom makes a lot of sense. I can see times when I have been upset or angry and my cats have seemed to have an understanding about what was happening and their behaviour reflected this. As I said to Moose, sometimes you forget the simplest things without even realising you have.

Swift46, I believe so too, and I hope one day you get your dog. :)

This as helped me tremendously and I once again want to thank you all.

You're doing the right thing by trusting your instinct on this. No reason to worry about karma, because life is giving you the opportunity to learn a lesson in responsibility and listening to your intuition. Animals know when they're ready, and you will also be able to tell if you watch closely. Sounds like you're doing that already. :)

I had a beautiful cat friend for 17 years, and I had to make the same decision two years ago. I also worried about whether I was doing the right thing, but I saw it in his eyes. He was ready. It was my responsibility to him to make his passing as comfortable and dignified as I could. He certainly deserved it and I know he trusted me.

I still miss him deeply, but I'm extremely grateful for the love and trust he always gave so freely. He gave it unconditionally to me, and anyone else who was a part of my life. He also came into my life in a way that was so poetic, there was no other explanation than his sweet little spirit called to me. I was so lucky to have had such an amazing creature in my life. Even to this day, I still feel his presence when I'm sad or sick, as though he's sitting right next to me like he always did. I feel comforted by it. That feeling of comfort helps me to know I made the right decision for him.

Hugs to you and Su. May you both have the same comfort that I have. :)
