Become Closer To God
Moral codes designed to help the people of the past learn how to get along together are now enshrined into religious doctrine. This locks them in as “must not be questioned” sets of rules to control your behavior.
There are two aspects here. The “must not be questioned” and who or what is controlling your behavior.
As you revitalize yourself as a Spiritual Being, becoming spiritually literate and trained to better understand what is going on in front of you, and to have the tools and experience to properly handle what is going on in front of you, don’t you think YOU just might be better able to control your own behavior?
By letting a culture, a religion, or a moral code control you, YOU abdicate YOUR sovereignty. Part of revitalizing yourself as a Spiritual Being includes taking YOUR sovereignty back and maintaining it.
Moral codes were written for people of long ago who were not yet ready to understand bigger concepts. Thou shall not steal, is a good example. Anyone giving this a first glance would say it is a good rule to live by. Well guess what, it is not.
Example – you are out with friends and a fellow comes in who you know and he gets really drunk. He is getting ready to leave, but can’t find his car keys. Someone stole them. He has no business driving drunk. Someone took his property without his permission – that is stealing. However, it was a proper use of stealing, as long as the keys are later returned to him later.
Someone who is deep into the religious control of the Ten Commandments has this mechanical problem of not being able to look, would have let the fellow leave, and if an accident would have occurred, would have no idea of their complicity. They were being good Christians following their hallowed Ten Commandments.
The real reason behind the do not steal rule is the concept of personal property. The truth is we cannot “own” anything. However, in order for there to be an economy, there must be the ability to exchange what you have for what others have.
If you cannot “own” it you cannot exchange it. Therefore, we have this giant agreement that each of us can own things, including our labor. Economies are the backbone of civilizations.
Once you understand this you will be able to determine the appropriate action based on your perceptions. Stealing, taking someone’s property without their permission, ceases to be good or bad, and simply becomes what it is, the action.
Now try explaining this to someone 3000 years ago. Nope, it is easier to simply say do not steal.
Additionally, with this knowledge, we can now easily understand things we don’t normally see as stealing are just that. Homes in a neighborhood filled with graffiti lose their value, thereby robbing the homeowners. Graffiti artists are thieves.
A Sovereign looks at a situation, sees it for what it is, and acts accordingly, but what rules control those actions? None! A Sovereign is omni-powerful. Nothing controls a Sovereign – except the Sovereign.
For a Sovereign, “The buck stops here.”
However, if a Sovereign misuses their powers and abilities, they will eventually fall. Does the fall from Grace sound familiar?
So how do we rise to that lofty level? And just as importantly, how do we stay there?
Is God bound by a moral code? No.
But, man is not God and therefore, needs a moral code. Yes, if one is being a human being only.
When you revitalize yourself as a Spiritual Being, you add to your humanness, the attributes of God. Moving closer to God, moves you closer to Spiritual Sovereignty and the ability to make good decisions.
Okay, but what are they and how do I do that?
at·trib·ute (àt¹re-by¡t´) noun
1. A quality or characteristic inherent in or ascribed to someone or something.
2. An object associated with and serving to identify a character, a personage, or an office: Lightning bolts are an attribute of Zeus.
[Latin attribuere, attribút- : ad-, ad- + tribuere, to allot. See tribute.]

Is God all powerful?
Is God all knowing?
How about honesty, responsibility, integrity, judgment, immortality, wisdom, truth, and love, would they be attributes of God? If you look into it, you might come up with some other attributes. Since god is infinite, would there be a finite list?
Isn’t man supposed to be created in God’s image? If so then maybe we should image (duplicate) God.
To image God we would have to take on the attributes of God, or at least move in that direction. As we do so, we would gain the wisdom to function as a Sovereign without the controls of a moral code. We would be better able to make good decisions and take responsibility for our actions.
Being a victim and blaming others is the reverse as it gives away our power to those others.
Spiritual Beings are images of god. After all, we are all "cut from the same cloth." To revitalize and maintain yourself as a Spiritual Being you would have to take on and fully operate at the highest levels of those attributes.
So how do we do that?
Start with a good dictionary, not Merriam Webster. We recommend The American Heritage Dictionary of the English language. It is a big book and usually comes with a CD so you can load it onto your computer. It has an Indo-European Root section in the back, which most dictionaries do not have, including the lesser versions of the AHD.
It is best to augment with other dictionaries to flesh out your understandings. Be sure to study the word usage, word histories, etymologies, and synonym sections.
Before you begin study on each word, each attribute, write out your current understanding of each, so you can clean that up as needed.
Live your life according to these attributes and you will move closer to the ability to make sound decisions based on what is going on in front of you; not on some limited moral code.
As you move closer to those attributes, you may need to clean up some stuff. There are other issues to deal with as well to become a full Sovereign. Essence Quest has a full array of techniques to assist you on your way to becoming a full Sovereign, a Spiritual Being, operating closer to God.
