Hey gang,
I just watched this film last night, and I was amazed at the amount of Law and Archetype and Symbolism in it. I haven't seen it for about 20 years, so it was like watching it for the first time.
The film opens with Pee-wee winning the Tour De France with his big red bicycle. You don't see his number until he's running toward the trophy presentation platform. The number pinned to his back is... 0! The Fool! Pee-Wee's attitude and personality is indeed that of the Fool (speaking tarot-wise), and his interaction with key other characters (such as, the Devil, the Empress, The Knight of Swords) is consistent with the Fool.
Key Line (spoken by the "devil" character at the end of the movie): "None of this would have happened to you if it weren't for me. Right, Pee-Wee?"
I'll let you watch it for yourselves to savor the joyous absurdity...
