Film Quotes

Jake Green: There is something about yourself that you don't know. Something that you will deny even exists, until it's too late to do anything about it. It's the only reason you get up in the morning. The only reason you suffer the shitty puss, the blood, the sweat and the tears. This is because you want people to know how good, attractive, generous, funny, wild and clever you really are. Fear or revere me, but please, think I'm special. We share an addiction. We're approval junkies. We're all in it for the slap on the back and the gold watch. The hip-hip-hoo-fuckin' rah. Look at the clever boy with the badge, polishing his trophy. Shine on you crazy diamond, because we're just monkeys wrapped in suits, begging for the approval of others.

Jake Green: Oh, I know you're still there... cause I can feel you dying. I can hear you tapping me... for a little nutrition. Now who's looking for a fix? It gets a little tight in here, do you? Well, you're not wrong... cause the walls are moving in. No food here. Not today, sunshine. My eyes are open and the restaurant's closed. Jog on. Slide off. Find someone else to fill your pipe. Someone, who won't see you coming... or know, when you're there.

Avi: The greatest con, that he ever pulled... was making you believe... that he is you.

Jake Green: The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you would ever look.

Another thing I found interesting before fully realising the deeper meaning of the film was when he says "Dangerous combination, Chess and Cons" lets rearrange that.....

I have in the past been fascinated by the idea that people say the truth backwards when the speak a lie forward.

Very Nice!! ;)

So...in the film revolver we are at times seeing Avi (the self) playing chess (The Game) against Mr Green (Ego Led)

The Self (AVI) throughout the film is conditioning the ego (Mr Green) to let go of the control (what others think) and materialistic possessions (Money) without the ego realising what is being done till the end..... where we switch back to the chess game (see links above) where Avi defeats Mr green and Mr green realises what has been had with a smile on his face.

So earlier in the film the self allowed the ego to think it was winning the game (chess) to the point that the ego thought it was in full control and superior to the self...while all along the self was the one really in control but could not reveal such till the ego had been through the process of realisation and thus allowed to see the reality of the situation. Only after Mr Green confronts his perceived enemy and then his own ego does the self reveal the game as mentioned above....beautiful

Hope I made sense...I know what I am trying to say Hahahahahaha

Exactly.

"Avi: Your quite good at this game Mr.Green. I know, because I'm quite good at this game" ;)

Yup spot on!

Something just came to my mind..........

The Ego - Mr Green
The Observer - Jake
The True Higher Self/Consciousness - Avi

And

The GREEN eyes monster - Envy from the ego

And

The Hulk is cast as the emotional and impulsive alter ego of the withdrawn and reserved physicist Dr. Bruce Banner (green)

Green is a powerful color according to the ancient wisdom of Kabbalah, because it is the color of the Central Column that stands between right and left, positive and negative, giving and receiving.

Could it be ego between the right and left brain hemispheres hmmm...so I look further

The 'left pillar' or 'left column' in Kabbalic traditions is often associated with 'the feminine' and with the colour black. Jake's surname is "Green", and the colour green is associated with the central column or pillar in Kabbalic traditions. Zach is a hefty, gargantuan, white man who 'dresses down' in a very archetypically 'masculine' way. Both masculinity and the colour white are associated with right column or right pillar energies in Kabbalic traditions.[6][7]

Sorry once I start I go off track

My mind is just in fascination mode...its like a sponge just now!

Saw that as well, it was one of the other things that jumped out at me. Yet do not get attracted by the 'Glamor' or 'Specialness' of the occult. Its a trap...

Was looking at this earlier. http://www.roage.com/shorts.aspx?ShortID=34 -Both ways :?
