Watching "Shutter Island" a couple of days ago, i was "shown" how the mind is not a proper tool for figuring out the truth. For those who have not watched the movie, the main character(played by Di Caprio) can be seen as sane or insane, realistic or delusional... and not only by the viewer but even from his, first person point of view. It became obvious that logical thinking can make you believe anything is the truth and equally the opposite, that nothing is the truth.
So, if our mind(s) are not the right tool for escaping this delusion, what is? Is it intuition? Is there something more?
Anyway, i'm glad and grateful that this was shown to me so directly, because I kept relying on the logical mind even after reading from roage's material that it could not be done. I'm stubborn and want a proof of my own
