Symbology in Revolver

Okay...

I like to make a sport of observing films for symbols, and just now I have sat down to another viewing of "Revolver", US version (UK ver. is sheeyte, IMHO), and about 2 minutes into the film, Jake gets into the elevator, and when the doors close a large "V" in silver is drawn across the closed doors. This is the chalice, a symbol for the womb-like room the men have entered for their transformation (elevation to a higher plane). Then I got the thought to start a series of threads on the subject. There was quite a bit in "Being John Malkovich", so that will be a later addition.

This symbology will not necessarily be interpreted in the direct context of Our Model, in cases where such a symbol has not been addressed directly. I'll let my intuition guide me and flip back and forth between this site and the movie and add and edit text as needed.

It's raining a LOT in the movie.

The title is "evolve" with an r at either end. perhaps meaning "reincarnate, evolve, reincarnate (also 18, a composite of 666, and Number 9 is the most humanitarian of all numbers. A read of a webpage on numerology describes 9 people as what I would call near-buddhas.

As Jake exits the cadillac (yes i went back to the beginning) you see on the left a woman depicted on a pillar with her arms forming an "S" and behind her is a reverse silhouette of the foreground image, so that it takes on a double-helix effect, especially with the curved ladder at the bottom of the pillar.

and on the right pillar, there is a picture of a woman with her hands joined above her head, and the repetition of this image in silhouette renders an eerie image of a great eye.

as jake is leaving the top floor, Zach is smoking with his left hand (serving self) and giving the card to Jake (service to "others"), also the names Avi (Hebrew for "my father") and Zach (Hebrew for "Remembered of God") are A and Z, and Alpha and Omega and represent the hand of Ahn in the film. Whatever Ahn would say, is what these guys say, pretty much, except they provide direct experience and teaching to Jake's I

Jake's address, we see as his caddy pulls in after his hospital visit (or is it just a sign?), is 7-12, both divine numbers, signifying the Creator, who protects him from Sorter's bullet.

As Jake unlocks his front door, he looks down (an odd action in itself) and sees a card like the one he got from Zach. Remembering the previous enocunter, and wishing he had taken the elevator, he picks up the card (listens to his intuition), and miraculously is saved from a killing shot.

As jake presents Avi with the first load of cash, Avi is admiring the bill and on my high-def rip of it, you can read "TWELVE" as the denomination, and "The United States of the Ubiquity" as the country.

I also noticed that the only automobiles in this film are black cadillac sedans. Ecxept for the black ford crown victoria sedans (i think they're the same one). crown vics have long been a favorite of law enforcement (who are really patsys to the 'pretend law' so-called government). Zach and Avi have the oldest one, a late 60s/early 70s model, and jake's is an 80s model. The other ones i can see are mid to late 90s models. It's the crown vic that creams jake at the rewind scene, which is then rewound and played out differently, because jake is under divine protection, as shown by the car (Avi's cadillac) that drives by honking its horn.

During the scene where you see the english fellows being tortured, and Macha's in all the papers, Macha orders French Paul to get Jake Green. He is powerless to do so, and the film takes on an eerily Star-Wars, or Matrix feel (if you see the UK version, it becomes a little clearer), with Jake representing the Light and Macha representing the dark. M is vvv, with two of the v's pointing up, vvv is vav vav vav, in hebrew gematria, is 666. J, on the other hand, is for yod, the first letter of Jesus's name, and the number 10, Divinity. Also reportedly the first "letter" that would make up the real name of Ahn, if it were truly spellable.

Thank you!

I've been at this for only a few years, but it comes as second-nature.

Watching Revolver again...

I missed putting this up before, though I have noticed it every time I have watched the movie.

During the conversation where Jake is explaining his time behind bars to his compatriots, there is a scene where he opens a mathematics book and written in pencil up in the corner of the page is a formula or expression or whatever, and the way it is written bears a remarkable resemblance to the word "Qabal" as in "Qabbalah" Not a surprise since Guy Ritchie's wife, Madonna, was big into Qabbalah for a while, maybe still is, since she may have learned some discretion by now and if so, would no longer tooting her horn about it.

She has been described in matters intimate as an encounter with gristle and whether the notable revelation of that body of law has become demonstrable in her experience has yet to be seen.

I wasn't accusing Madonna of enlightenment. Perish the thought!
