In the mid 70's the sex pistols were allowed to twist the perceptions of the populace about what anarchy meant, it became hip to go around spitting on people, swearing, kicking things in and the like, it served a function to induce a need for more order, an external saviour was needed to take us back to common decency. This so called anarchy in itself though spawned the seedlings for real change to occur and along came bands like the dead kennedys, crass, disorder, discharge d.o.a. and many more, the dead kennedys got tossed out of the states as they were seen to be unpatriotic because they saw the "dark shattered underbelly of the american dream" for what it was and that was far to close for the the heirachy to be comfortable with, lyrics telling of what the states was really upto in the banana republics, the trance which was to be mtv, the slave mentality of the typical working man and the regime which the world was falling under Crass had a uk number 1 hit but it got banned not the frankie goes to hollywood style sexual innuendo banned but a full session in parliament banned, it was verging on revolution what with the miners striking, inflation rocketing, people listening to subversive song lyrics, change was needed and so our savior Maggie thatcher sent near enough the whole of her majestys naval fleet 5000 miles to recapture a small bit of rock where three penguins and a star fish lived all bring bring our wandering minds back to heel (it worked by the way lol). So anarchy isnt about running riot, fighting, thieving, trashing cars and wearing twenty two holed combat boots, that is what they want you to believe, real anarchy is sovergeinship, without a ruler, without government, without control, without ego.it is self rule, self government, self control, egoless. Anarchy is what one makes it, and for me now it is me it is now.
